About
retirement
and on we go....
the fight...and
the sedentary leisure lies
to those who feel
to all who steal
my youth
my love
my pleasure ties
to all who feel
my restive byes
and treasure binds
my youth to age
and
makes blind the brilliant sage
of youth.
'tis night...and
the sedentary leisure cries
to those who deal
the time we have
as though
'tis not so much the ride
as loving...
while all the while
for all while smiling,
though intimidation rings
to bring about
with ne'er a care
my time
quite tossed aside.
the flight...and
the sedentary leisure tries
to make time
stand forever still......
and reel in the stay
to pass the day
while labor breaks
the back of
labor's lifelong fray
and tilts the balance
from
sit by day
to fly by night
with angel's sight.
the plight...and
the sedentary leisure sighs
oh dear
my dear
to where we go
next!
must make it
must take it
home
back where we
all belong
on wings
on slings
of loving children all
ah light time...and
sedentary leisures dies
and with a wry smile
the degradation speaks
but recreation seeks
to wake the day
to pass the time away
and find meaning
where we all go on
in pleasant bliss
to give my life
good morning kiss
and on
we go...
and on
we go...
